Transfer Students

Are you planning on transferring to into the Agricultural and Environmental Education major, the Animal Science major, or the Animal Science and Management major at UC Davis from a community college or another university? Explore the helpful information below to get started!

Set yourself up for success:

In order to make your transfer to UC Davis as smooth as possible, we recommend COMPLETING the equivalent course series listed below at your current institution prior to transfer. Work with your academic advisor or counselor for guidance on determining which courses at your current institution match UC Davis courses.

If you are attending a California community college, you can also use ASSIST.org in partnership with your advisor or counselor to identify which classes transfer. Please note, we recommend viewing course articulations by department rather than by major for the most accurate information.

Animal Science

Starting Fall quarter 2027, Animal Science will become a selective major. This will require students to complete equivalents to BIS 2ABC, CHE 2ABC, and MAT 17AB or MAT 19AB or MAT 21AB with a 2.50 GPA across the entire group of courses. For for more information, please visit the Admissions website

**Failure to complete the General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry series prior to transferring will delay a student's timeline in completing a B.S. degree from UC Davis in Animal Science.**
